So Verizon finally got me a phone line. But they still haven’t managed to send me the DSL package, even though the DSL line is working, and I can’t seem to get it working with the old DSL modem I had lying around. Who would’ve thought that a company could manage to display so many different kinds of incompetence on one little installation? Anyway, normal-volume blogging once this last (knock on wood) problem is fixed.
By the by, I just saw Dismemberment Plan at DC’s Black Cat, and they put on a hell of a show. I’ve been humming their song “The City” since leaving Manhattan, and was gratified that they played it. At the show, I encountered the bearers of six splendid X-chromosomes: NYU debate hipster Kate Sawyer, and D.C. blog-aristocrats Jen Rajkowski & Missy Schwartz. It occured to me that since coming to D.C., I’ve met scads of folks I’d previously known only via Internet. All cool folks so far — whoda thunk it?
