I’ve been remiss in neglecting to mention the surprisingly fun Kalorama Blogorama, as Will Wilkinson termed it. “Surprising” only because if you’d told me in advance that a group of right-leaning political wonks who, oh yeah, spend inordinate amounts of time on the Internet, would be a blast when squeezed into a bar… well, let’s just say I’d have raised an eyebrow. My colleague (and landlord) Gene Healy got a pretty comprehensive list of attendees. These included lots of the Beltway Bloggers, as well as (when worlds collide!) many APDA debaters who blog. One of whom was hit on by a colleague at some length… extra weird. I also subjected poor Eve Tushnet to a mid-sized ramble about precisely why it is that I’m not an anarchist, and had the poor taste to introduce myself to Ramesh Ponnuru with the phrase: “Hey, I attacked something you wrote once!”
All in all, a fun time. Can’t wait for Radley, Gene, and Brink to cook up the next one.
