Writing the piece below, I recalled that the time I missed that midnight showing, I had meant to go check it out with Todd Seavey, who I’m convinced was separated at birth from Glen Whitman. One day they’ll meet and the universe will implode. Anyway, if you’ve travelled in Manhattan libertarian circles, you might know about Victor Niederhoffer’s group Junto, which gets a lecturer once a month for a genuinely anarchic discussion, with the audience tossing out comments and questions throughout the talk. It’s a valuable NY institution, but it has its quirks.
If you’ve never been, this piece by Todd recounting one of the meetings will probably just seem odd. If you have been, you may want to get a glass of water before you click the link, because it took me a while to stop laughing at how dead on it was.
