I think it’s because I’m reading a novel in which art figures pretty heavily, but my first thought upon reading the headline ““Olmert bans mobiles in meetings” was: “What has he got against Calder?”

I had the same sort of reaction when I read today’s headline:
Many Found Sexually Active Into the 70s

Probably because “cell phone” is much more common than “mobile” in the States. Note that your link goes to the BBC.
