Valerie Plame asserts that yes, she really was “covert” after all; Andy McCarthy insists she must be confused about what her own status was.
Oh, also, “a zillion people a day” saw her go in and out of CIA HQ? This seems… dubious. I was in a car that took a wrong turn at the CIA exit in Virginia once, and we got a mini interrogation and ID check before they even let us turn around and get back on the highway. I don’t think they just let any old person hang out by the main buildings and scope out who’s coming and going.

I have a friend who worked at the CIA in NoVa for a couple of years. The location of his building was secret, and he wasn’t allowed to walk to lunch for fear someone would figure out he worked for the CIA. There definitely isn’t much risk that random non-CIA people were loitering at the entrance to Plame’s building taking notes on who was coming and going.

You might think that. However, I have my copy of Who’s Who open right here, and in the entry for Valerie Plame, (1) one of her listed jobs is NOC, CIA (2) there is a full-color photo of her walking out of CIA headquarters, and (3) most damningly of all, it asserts that she is in fact Joe Wilson’s wife.
