I’ve got a review essay in the most recent issue of Reason, “Marital Mythology,” which takes a look at both the history and contemporary problems of marriage through the lens of two books: Stephanie Coontz’s Marriage, a History and Promises I Can Keep by sociologists Kathryn Edin and Maria Kefalas.
