I know a thousand people must have commented on this already (I think Amy has), but the rhetoric of “tax giveaways” is really starting to piss me off. The tax cuts may be a bad idea, given that the current strategy seems to be to fund them with debt, but deciding not to take the money people have earned from them doesn’t count as “giving” anything. Or if it does, I’m going to start referring to my practice of never commiting rape as a “sexual giveaway” to attractive people who don’t want to sleep with me.
