My last big project for Cato before I left was to edit and “Americanize” Johan Norberg’s excellent book In Defense of Global Capitalism. I’ve just gotten my grubby little hands on a copy of the new edition, which means it should be ready to order soon.
Now, I swear I’m not just saying this because I worked on it: this is a really great book. When I had a copy of the U.K. edition, I passed it on to an antiglobo, instinctually lefty friend when she asked me for the best short case for my side of the globalization debate. It’s small enough to carry around, broken into short topical chapters so you can jump to an area of interest and thumb through it on the subway, and jammed with some pretty impressive empirical evidence on the merits of global markets. Defintely worth checking out if you’re interested in the issue.
